Voice Clone Guide

Last updated October 08, 2026

Guide Overview

Voice Clone lets you create a personalized AI voice from a short audio sample and use it with supported Vinabot AI experiences.

Vinabot analyzes characteristics such as pronunciation, rhythm, and tone to create a voice that sounds similar to the original speaker.

A cloned voice can currently be used with:

  • AI Companions — give an AI Companion a familiar or personalized voice
  • Photo Avatars — use a cloned voice when creating a talking-photo video

This guide covers how to prepare your audio, create a Voice Clone, manage saved voices, and troubleshoot common issues.

Section What You Will Learn
Part 1 | Prepare Your Audio Understand supported audio methods and recording requirements.
Part 2 | Create a Voice Clone Create and save a cloned voice in the Vinabot app.
Part 3 | Use & Manage Voices Preview, rename, assign, and delete cloned voices.
Part 4 | Responsible Use Understand important requirements when cloning another person's voice.
Part 5 | Troubleshooting Resolve common Voice Clone issues.

Part 1 | Prepare Your Audio

1. Choose How to Provide Your Voice Sample

Vinabot supports two ways to provide audio for Voice Clone:

Upload an Audio File

Choose an existing audio recording from your phone.

Record Audio in the App

Record a new voice sample directly through the Vinabot app.

Both methods use the same audio requirements.

Requirement Guidance
Format MP3, WAV, or M4A
File Size Under 10MB
Duration 10–30 seconds
Speakers One person only
Audio Quality Clear speech with minimal background noise
Speaking Style Natural pronunciation and moderate speaking speed
Tip:
For best results, use a quiet environment and record one person speaking clearly at a natural pace.

2. Tips for a Better Voice Sample

The quality of the source audio directly affects the cloned voice.

For better results:

  • Use a quiet recording environment.
  • Keep background music and ambient noise to a minimum.
  • Make sure the speaker is clearly audible.
  • Speak naturally at a comfortable pace.
  • Keep the microphone at a consistent distance.

When recording in the Vinabot app, you can read the provided sample script or speak naturally in your own words.

Part 2 | Create a Voice Clone

3. Where to Start

You can access Voice Clone from two places in the Vinabot app.

From Assets

Go to:

Assets → Voice → Voice Clone

Access Voice Clone from Assets in the Vinabot app

Use this option when you want to create and save a voice before assigning it to an AI Companion or Photo Avatar.

While Creating an AI Companion or Photo Avatar

When selecting a voice, you may access Voice Clone from:

Select from Library → My Voices → Voice Clone

In the current app version, opening Voice Clone from an editing workflow may take you away from the current page.

Important:
Your current edits are saved as a draft when you exit the editing page.

4. Create Your Voice Clone

Step 1: Add Your Audio

Choose either:

  • Upload Audio File
  • Record Audio

If recording directly in the app, follow the on-screen instructions to start and finish your recording.

Step 2: Name the Voice

Give the voice a recognizable name so you can easily find it later.

For example:

  • Mom's Voice
  • Dad's Voice
  • Narrator
  • Emma
  • Studio Voice

Choose a name based on how you plan to use the voice, especially if you expect to create several Voice Clones.

Step 3: Start Cloning

Tap Start Cloning to submit the voice sample.

Voice Clone uses AI Credits, and the required Credit amount is shown before cloning.

If your AI Credit balance is insufficient, the app will prompt you to add more Credits.

An internet connection is required during the cloning process.

Step 4: Find Your Cloned Voice

After cloning is complete, the new voice is saved under:

Assets → Voice

It will also appear under My Voices when selecting a voice for supported AI features.

Part 3 | Use & Manage Voices

5. Use a Cloned Voice

Cloned voices can be selected anywhere the My Voices library is supported.

Current supported uses include:

  • AI Companions
  • Photo Avatars

When choosing a voice, you can preview it before assigning it.

Volume and speaking speed can currently be adjusted for cloned voices in both AI Companion and Photo Avatar workflows.

6. Official Voices and My Voices

Vinabot separates available voices into two categories.

Voice Type Description
Official Voices Preset voices provided by Vinabot.
My Voices Personalized voices created using Voice Clone.

Your cloned voices are saved under My Voices for future use.

7. Preview and Rename a Voice

Go to:

Assets → Voice

From here, you can preview your saved cloned voices before using them.

To rename a cloned voice, select the Edit icon and enter a new name.

A clear naming system can make it easier to manage multiple saved voices.

8. Delete a Cloned Voice

Cloned voices can be deleted from:

Assets → Voice

Before deleting a voice, check whether it is currently being used by an AI Companion.

Deleting a cloned voice affects AI Companions that use that voice, but does not affect Photo Avatar videos that have already been generated.

Effect Details
AI Companions already sent to a frame The AI Companion cannot be used on the device after its assigned cloned voice is deleted.
AI Companions not yet sent to a frame The AI Companion cannot be sent to a frame until a new voice is assigned.
How to restore an affected AI Companion Edit the AI Companion and assign a new voice before using or sending it again.
Photo Avatars Previously generated Photo Avatar videos are not affected.
Voice Recovery Deleting a Voice Clone is irreversible.
AI Credits Credits used to create a deleted voice are non-refundable.
Important:
If a cloned voice is currently assigned to an AI Companion, assign a replacement voice before deleting it whenever possible.

Part 4 | Responsible Use

9. Cloning Another Person's Voice

Voice Clone can create a voice from audio belonging to another person, including recordings you already have.

Only use audio that you own or are authorized to use.

This includes voices belonging to family members, friends, other identifiable individuals, or people who have passed away.

Make sure you have the appropriate permission or legal right to use the recording and voice.

Important:
Do not upload or clone voices that you do not have permission or authorization to use.

10. Using Existing Recordings

If you are creating a Voice Clone from an older recording, choose a segment that meets the same audio requirements described in Part 1 | Prepare Your Audio.

Recordings containing music, multiple speakers, heavy background noise, or unclear speech may produce poorer results or fail to process.

Part 5 | Troubleshooting

11. Voice Cloning Failed

If Voice Clone fails, first check that your audio meets the requirements in Part 1 | Prepare Your Audio.

Issue What to Do
Audio is too short or too long Use a 10–30 second voice sample.
File is too large Use a file under 10MB.
Unsupported format Use MP3, WAV, or M4A.
Multiple people are speaking Use audio containing only one speaker.
Background noise is too strong Record again in a quieter environment.
Speech is unclear Use a clearer recording with natural speaking speed.
Network connection is unstable Try again using a stable internet connection.

If a Voice Clone task is confirmed as failed, the AI Credits used for that failed task are automatically returned.

12. My Cloned Voice Does Not Sound Right

If the result does not sound close enough to the original speaker, try creating a new Voice Clone with a clearer source recording.

For better results:

  • Use a quieter recording.
  • Keep one speaker clearly audible.
  • Use natural speech.
  • Avoid background music, strong echoes, or inconsistent volume.

13. I Cannot Find My Cloned Voice

Check:

Assets → Voice

Completed Voice Clones should appear in the Voice library and under My Voices when selecting a supported custom voice.

If the voice is still processing, allow the task to complete before using it.

14. I Cannot Assign a Voice

If a cloned voice cannot be selected or assigned:

  • Confirm that cloning has finished successfully.
  • Check that the voice still appears under My Voices.
  • Confirm that you are using a feature that supports cloned voices.
  • Check your internet connection and reopen the Vinabot app if necessary.

If the issue continues, see Contact Vinabot Support.

15. Still Need Help?

If Voice Clone continues to fail after your audio meets the requirements above, contact support@vinabot.ai.

When contacting support, include:

  • Your Vinabot account or User ID
  • A description of the issue
  • Whether you used uploaded audio or in-app recording
  • Screenshots of any error messages
  • Basic information about the audio file, such as format and duration

Do not send sensitive audio recordings by email unless Vinabot Support specifically asks you to provide them through an approved support channel.
